Project Medium: Animation

Marcescent is a 2D and 3D hybrid animation, whichshows a story of a greedy world by the metaphor of a forest filled with meat. In the story, the little girl saved and became friends with an ill bird. Inside the forest, the little girl got killed by an old spirit who controlled the forest. After her death, the bird helped the little girl became stars and accompaniedwith her in the sky.

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Hung ling Wu is a storyboard artist and visual designer who received her BFA in Multimedia Design from Tatung University in Taiwan, 2010. For her MFA degree, she concentrates in 3D animation in the Computer Art Department from the School of Visual Arts in New York, scheduled to graduate in spring 2014. She has contributed to Music Video Storyboarding at the Lan-Tain Studio and animated commercial motion graphics at C2 Inc in Taiwan. She always tries to combine various media as experiments in visual effects, such as hand-drawn illustrations with 3D characters. She also draws her own stories in graphic novel form. Observations of natural phenomena and life are her resources and inspiration for creative ideas.
